This short documentary could have become just another branded media release. Instead, the team found a story about people struggling to survive, and set out to tell that story in a way that would encourage viewers to take action and make a difference.
Accolades
Tasked with creating an original deliverable using existing footage, I searched through petabytes (with a P) of media to help tell the story of a community-based, not-for-profit organization that most people in the Phoenix metropolitan area only think about while paying for electricity.
Sometimes, the best way to communicate is to let the experts do it themselves. Our teams set out to let energy forecasters, resource planners, policy analysts, and others explain complex concepts in their own words. I combined existing b-roll and motion graphics to support new footage to make something potentially boring and confusing more entertaining and digestible.
